FAQ

Frequently Ask Questions

Do you remove asbestos?

No — we specialise in encapsulation, which is safer and more cost-effective. However, if the asbestos is damaged or must be removed by law, we can assist.

What is encapsulation?

Encapsulation involves covering asbestos materials with a primer that seals the fibres and prevents them from becoming airborne.

Is it legal to encapsulate asbestos instead of removing it?

Yes. In South Africa, encapsulation is a recognised, compliant method under the Asbestos Abatement Regulations 2020.

How long does the primer last?

Our primers provide long-term protection and only require occasional inspection for integrity. Once we have encapsulated your roof you will receive certification as proof of compliance. Every two years we must inspect your roof again, and every 5 years a top coat must be applied if needed (to be quoted at the time of inspection).

Do I need to move out during treatment?

No — the process is minimally disruptive and safe to perform while the property is occupied.
